Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I begin?
Chances are, you are selecting a monument for the first time. If so, you are probably starting to become aware of the process and the many questions that confront you.
- What style of monument should I choose?
- What about granite colors and sizes?
- Are there cemetery rules I need to know about?
- How much should I budget?
When you contact a Rose Lawn Monument consultant, you have an advocate, not a salesperson, to professionally guide and assist you through the entire process.

What affects the price of a monument?
The length, height, and thickness of a monument or marker greatly determine the final cost. The color of the granite impacts the price as well.
A standard gray color will always be your most economical choice. Reds, pink, blacks, blues, mahoganies, and other colored granites will increase price.
The style and characteristics of the monument you choose will also impact price. Standard shapes and sizes are more economical than custom shapes and cuts. The amount of polished granite can also vary the price.
Enhancements such as photos, vases, and etchings increase costs as well.
Finally, your monument or marker will incur foundation and installation fees. Some cemeteries impose additional fees.

Testimonials
Austin Smith
“I had a wonderful experience with Rose Lawn Monuments. My aunt passed away this past April and I had never had to decide on any kind of arrangements regarding a grave marker. I contacted Rose Lawn and spoke with Bernard. He was so nice and listened to my worries of finding the right marker. I went in to see him and within minutes he helped me create the perfect stone. My family loved it and I know my aunt does too. Bernard reassured me that they would handle everything, and he was right. There was no pressure and zero stress, which was appreciated and a comfort. I was concerned if they would place a stone in another cemetery other than their own, as my aunt buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto. There was no problem at all. I’m so very thankful to Rose Lawn and their staff for their caring, considerate help during a difficult time.”
